CASH CUP II RULEBOOK

📄 Cash Cup II – Rules & Event Format

Morongo Valley RC Park

🏁 Overview

Cash Cup II is a lap-count race across multiple crawler scales.

Fastest total time wins. Reliability, consistency, and strategy matter.

1/24 – 10 laps

1/18 – 15 laps

1/10 – 20 laps

Winner takes the purse for their class.

🏎 Start Procedure

• Racers launch one at a time from Start Lane A

• Launch spacing: 5–10 seconds between drivers

Lane B is a passing / bypass lane, not a start lane

• Merge rule: Lead vehicle has right-of-way

• Clean passes only — no intentional punting

Class Splitting

• Classes may subdivide when turnout supports it

3 rigs make a class

• Example splits:

• 1/10 → 1.9 vs 2.2

• 1/24 → Stock vs Mod

• Each class has their own purse and winner

• Final classes announced before racing begins

💥 Contact Rules

• Light rubbing OK — this is racing

No aggressive ramming, dive-bombing, or blocking

• Penalty/DSQ for repeat rough conduct

Timing & Trackmate Transponders

Trackmate Transponder required for official lap scoring

• Limited loaners available

• Must be mounted clearly before staging

• Timing results are final

💰 Fees & Payout

Cash Cup Rules V1.0

Format

• The Cash Cup is a timed lap event — fastest total time wins.

Qualifying: 1 timed lap. Each racer gets one attempt. Starting order for the Main is set by qualifying times.

Main: 3 timed laps. The racer with the lowest total elapsed time across all 3 laps wins.

• Racers leave the line in staggered intervals (about every 30 seconds, possibly up to 1–2 minutes if entries are large).

• This is a race against the clock — position on track does not matter, only recorded lap times.

Classes

• Two classes: Stock and Modified.

• Racers may self-declare their class.

Transponders & Timing

• Every racer must run a Trackmate transponder to be officially timed.

• TrackTechRC has a limited number of loaner transponders available.

• Preregistration secures both a pit space and a loaner transponder (if needed).

• Transponders must be mounted securely and visibly before going to the line.

• Timing is fully automated — results are based on lap times, not visual scoring.

Preregistration & Pit Spaces

Preregister early for best pit selection and transponder access.

• Pit spaces are chosen in the order of preregistration (first come, first served).

• 10 premium trackside pits available; overflow added as needed.

• Day-of registration is allowed, but pit space and transponders are not guaranteed.

Entry Fees & Cash Payouts

Entry fee: $20 per class.

$10 from each entry goes into the prize pool of the class you’re racing.

• The remaining $10 covers facility expenses.

• Each class has its own pool, split:

1st Place – 50% of the class pool

2nd Place – 30%

3rd Place – 20%

• If a class has fewer than 5 entries, payout may be adjusted to winner-take-all or top-2 only.

Season Points & Awards

• No trophies for individual events.

• Awards are given at the end of the season, based on combined time from all three races.

• The Top 3 finishers overall receive season trophies.
